Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the cost compare to replacing an aluminum roof?

A restoration coating typically runs one-third to one-half the installed cost of a panel tear-off and replacement, with no disruption to the building below and no old panels going to the landfill. The bigger the roof, the wider that gap gets.

How long will the coating last?

Warranty tiers are 10 years at 40 mils and 15 years at 60 mils of dry film. In practice the membrane is recoatable: a single refresher topcoat near the end of the warranty period extends the system again without redoing the base membrane.

What colors are available?

Reflective white and aluminum-gray are stocked; custom-tinted topcoats are available on wholesale orders. Most commercial owners choose white for the cooling-cost reduction.

Can the coated roof be walked on?

Yes. The cured membrane is a tough 2,850 PSI film that handles normal maintenance foot traffic. For daily-traffic paths to rooftop units we recommend a granulated walkway detail in the topcoat.

Does coating work on oxidized, chalky aluminum?

That is the normal condition we coat. Chalking must be washed off and the surface scuffed or etched first — adhesion tests on a prepped test patch are part of our standard application guide.

I am not a contractor. Can I still buy it?

Yes. Small quantities ship direct for carports, awnings, sheds and mobile home roofs, with the same application guide our professional crews use. For large or steep roofs we will connect you with a trained applicator instead.
